Overview

The OPTIBAR 5060 eDP is a dual pressure transmitter version for electronic differential pressure measurement. It is particularly suitable for level, density and DP applications with closed vessels as well as density compensated level measurement in open tanks and tanks vented to atmospheric pressure. In some applications electronic differential pressure measurement can be an alternative to the use of classical differential pressure transmitters.The main advantage of an eDP transmitter is its cost-efficient connection to the vessel. Smaller process connections without capillaries with a maximum distance of up to 25 m / 75 ft between the top and the bottom tap save cost and installation time. The electronic DP measurement loses its edge over a classical DP measurement in applications at higher gas pressures for which the classical differential pressure transmitters OPTIBAR DP 7060 or OPTIBAR DP 3050 are most suitable.

  • Free combination of OPTIBAR PM 5060 and OPTIBAR PC 5060 transmitters in a primary/secondary sensor system: configuration with metallic and/or ceramic diaphragms
  • No need for capillaries:
    • much smaller process connections (from G½) possible as compared to installation with capillary tube attachment
    • connection via signal cables instead of oil filled capillaries
    • thermal insulation not required
    • extremely fast step response times of less than 85 ms
    • less maintenance
